Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer discs, thumb drives, external drives, or downloads?

Yes, we offer multiple options for receiving your digitized media. Most customers choose thumb drives or external hard drives instead of DVDs. We can also deliver files via popular cloud services for download or storage, with a small fee depending on file size. Very large or uncompressed video orders, as well as large image collections, may not be practical for cloud downloads. If you need help deciding, we are here to help!

How long will it take?

Leadtime depends on the size of the project and our current queues. Most standard size projects typically take a week or two.

We can often get you what you need for an urgent project on very short notice. In order to get your project to the front of the queue and meet your deadline we may need to delay other projects and work additional hours. We can do this, but this sometimes incurs a rush fee.

Is your digitization process secure and safe?

Absolutely! In business since 2006, we’ve never lost or damaged any piece of media. Everything happens in-house, and we use careful processing methods—like avoiding document scanners for photos. Processing is done in the lab where you drop off your media. It never leaves our offices.

Unlike impersonal online services, we never risk mailing your precious memories. We offer higher-quality outputs (like AVI or MOV files, not just MP4), rigorously QC’d scans, precisely preserved film, and competitive pricing.

Can I place an order online? Can I ship my media to you?

Most customers out of state that want to place orders with us simply box up their media and mail it directly to one of our locations. We count the media and then call to discuss the project.

Do you convert commercial or copyrighted tapes, VHS or DVDs?

We cannot convert or digitize copyrighted VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, or other video formats without proper written permission from the copyright owner. However, we do work with archival footage, unpublished film, and other non-commercial or authorized projects. Whether it’s rare film reels or behind-the-scenes footage, we can digitize and restore your work for modern viewing and archiving without losing a frame of quality.

Free Local Pickups (SoCal)

For large, heavy, or bulk orders of any type (film, photos, videos, etc.), please contact us for information regarding local pickup and delivery options near our location in Los Angeles.

We know it can be difficult to find the time to transport your boxes of movies or photos, but we feel the importance of preserving history for future generations is worth the effort on our part!
